(In the spirit of the letters I had to write as a kid on the first day of summer camps I attended.)
Dear Mom,
We hope your summer has been as great as ours! Our summer adventures have been nothing short of extraordinary! We, Tina Thrussell and L. Neil Thrussell, embarked on a whirlwind of activities that deserve a spot in the record books.
First off, we took our green thumbs to new heights. Not content with just one garden, we went all-in and tended to two magnificent gardens. The “Garden of Greenery” became our sanctuary, a place where carrots and peas harmoniously coexisted and where we discovered that watering plants can be quite the workout. Let’s not forget the “Garden of Greatness,” where we planted dreams alongside our tomatoes and zucchinis. We’re pretty sure the garden gnomes approved of our efforts.
But wait, there’s more! Our trusty trailer became the epicentre of outdoor extravagance. We transformed into true camping connoisseurs, mastering the art of campfires and marshmallow roasting. And, of course, we cooked up a storm in our portable kitchen, whipping up gourmet meals that would put any five-star restaurant to shame (well, at least in our opinion).
As for biking, Neil went above and beyond this summer, pedalling his way to a jaw-dropping 1500 kilometres! He explored every nook and cranny, from the rolling hills to the meandering forest trails. At this rate, he might just beat Lance Armstrong’s record – minus the performance-enhancing substances, of course.
In the realm of health, Tina tackled her challenges head-on, emerging victorious and stronger than ever. She’s practically a health superhero now, complete with a cape made from organic kale leaves. Who needs a doctor when you have Tina on your side?
Meanwhile, Neil accomplished the monumental task of finishing “Alchemy of The Heart,” a literary masterpiece that will surely dazzle readers for generations to come. And Tina’s editing prowess reached its zenith as she transformed the manuscript into pure literary gold. Neil’s creative genius knows no bounds!
But the adventure doesn’t stop there. Neil ventured into the Nisga’a Nations Territory to staff a men’s weekend that will go down in history. And then there was the unforgettable men’s weekend in May, where he played the role of mentor and guide, helping others unlock their inner warriors.
And as if all of this weren’t enough, Neil embarked on yet another literary journey, starting his fourth book in the “A Warrior’s Heart Series.” Who knew that his heart was such a wellspring of inspiration?
In conclusion, Mom, our summer was a whirlwind of gardening greatness, camping splendour, and an epic literary odyssey. We’ve mastered the fine art of vegetables, conquered the wilderness, pedalled our way to fitness, and written the next great novel. Our adventures will be the stuff of legend, and we can’t wait to share it all with you.
