Wanting…

Between “A Course in Miracles,” the teachings of “Unity,” and the “Daily Om” newsletter, (oh, and I can’t forget our own teachings from the Shin Dao – The Way of the Heart!) I am getting a clear message to share this message:

We are whole and complete as we are. As much as we might think we are broken and need to be fixed, that is never the case. We simply are not seeing our wholeness.

As much as we think we have unmet needs, that is not the case. We simply are not seeing that everything we need we already have.

As much as we focus on what we want and desire, we will continue to want and desire. (That’s the Law of Attraction at work!) We are simply not seeing that being in service fills up any holes we may be feeling.

This message is so simple that you may argue that it is not so. Yet, the longer I am on a Spiritual Path, the more I see these statements as truths.

This is why affirmations and affirmative prayers – when we state things as if they already are as we desire – are so important.

When we declare things as we ‘want’ them to be – eg. “I want to have a great day” – we are, in fact, affirming that we don’t have them!

We tend to make these kinds of declarations because we are not seeing/hearing/feeling things the way we think we should.

I offer you this affirmation today, borrowed from the “Daily Om” email I read this morning:

When we affirm that we are fulfilled rather than deficient, we are asserting that contentment is a natural way of being.

Don’t believe a word I’m saying!  Test my theory out for yourself and see if it is a truth!  (And when you do, please write to me and share your results. Info@shindao.com )
