Tina ThrussellDaily Word is a publication that was created by a young man named Frank B. Whitney in 1924. He had an idea – a vision – to provide a daily inspirational message for people through a small booklet. Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, co-founders of the Unity movement, believed in Frank’s vision and supported him.
Frank wrote nearly all the daily messages and most of the poems published in the magazine for the first 14 years it was published. The young man’s vision turned into a legacy.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the uplifting booklet/magazine. This spring, Unity Books published a special commemorative coffee table book to honour the 100-year landmark of Daily Word.
My curiosity about the extraordinary success of the little booklet pushed me to purchase a copy of the beautiful commemorative book, which includes a selection of daily messages from different periods of time.
The first-ever Daily Word message was published on July 1, 2024, and I was absolutely amazed at how pertinent the message is today, more than 100 years after it was written! To help me really grasp the enormity of the message, I paraphrased and rewrote the wording, doing my utmost best to keep the true nature of Frank B. Whitney’s message. I share my rewrite with you now:
In order to have spiritual understanding, you must first realize that you have the capacity to understand. When you acknowledge that it is natural and ‘right’ for you to have the full knowledge of the Infinite, you confirm your ability to enjoy infinite understanding.
You can access your power within through consciousness. Believing that the ‘Divine Mind’ is a real presence within you allows you to identify yourself with all light and knowledge and rise above any thought of being limited in understanding.
Never think or say, “That is too difficult or complicated for me to understand.” Instead, think, “At all times, all of humanity is capable of knowing all Truth.” Learn to trust the light within you as your source of clarity for whatever you wish to know.
