Tina ThrussellMonday evening, I asked for an oracle card that would guide our readers today… and I had to smile when I pulled the “Dance” card from Cheryl Richardson’s “Self-Care Cards”. I thought, “This was supposed to be a message for our readers, not for me!” It is for me… and it may be for you, too.
In this case, ‘Dance” doesn’t simply mean move your body to music, it means dance with life! Dance with your masculine and feminine energies to realize a beautiful balance. Recognize that the universe is playful. Dance with the Universe. Express yourself creatively. Care less about the destinations and see life as a fun, playful and enjoyable journey. Dance!
This idea of dancing with life, which I once lived by, all fell by the wayside at the beginning of this year, when I experienced a fraudulent investment program that knocked me completely off-centre… I’ll spare you the details, but suffice it to say that I was taken back to ground zero, suffocated by blanket of darkness: betrayal, distrust, shame, guilt, doubt, self-doubt, fear… I stopped hearing the music of life. Stopped seeing the beauty. Stopped tasting the sweetness of life. Stopped smelling the roses. Stopped feeling the joy that I carry inside.
Shaking off that blanket so I can live in the light again has been a nearly year-long process. Again, I’ll spare you the details and fast forward to the last few weeks, where the messages from the Universe have been more frequent and clear: The theme of play is showing up in my Spiritual Community. My blood sugar levels were rising (reminding me to taste the sweetness of life). The message about playing more, and doing more of what brings me joy, came to me through a nurse, a therapist, my coach… and even a kinesiologist! Messages from my daily readings from Dr David Hawkins, Unity, and A Course in Miracles have included seeing life lightly, with love, peace and joy. And finally, this oracle card, “Dance.” The message on the card says “Step into the light. Share your gifts and talents with the world.”
All of it is telling me, “It’s time!”
I am remembering how to let go of seriousness, play more, love more deeply, live by the tenets of the Shin Dao, and dance with life again… and I invite you to step into this phase of life with me.
